This collective of musicians based in Chesapeake, VA, unite to create an exceptional experience for listeners. The 5STARR sound is curated by lead vocalist Chris Whitaker, Curdarius Swain on drums, Phil Burford on lead guitar, Antwan Shephard on keys, and Robert Wilkins on bass guitar. While each individual has accomplished feats as musicians, the group’s cohesiveness has spawned a sound destined for musical greatness for many years to come. 5STARR offers full band and acoustic options for your entertainment needs.
Antwan Shepherd is a Native of South Carolina. he Attended Norfolk State University and majored in music. he plays both auxiliary and main keys. he has transcended limitations and genres. with an ear like no other, he finds and delivers the authentic sound to any song.
Chris Whitaker is a native of Virginia. Many may know him for his skills playing drums but with 5sTARR he flexes his frontman capabilities to wow the crowd.
Phil Burford is also a native of Virginia. Phil brings an uncanny ability to wow music lovers with his guitar skills. Want a little rock n roll or R&B or even classic rock, Phil delivers. A triple threat, Phil is versed in guitar, drums and bass.
Robert Wilkins is a native of North Carolina. He began playing bass at the age of 14 and has honed his craft for over two decades. He's an eclectic artist with the ability to play a wide range of genres and styles.
Curdarius Swain hails from the great state of North Carolina. He also began playing at a young age and has proven himself as a force to be reckoned with. Curdarius is the 2016 Hampton Roads winner of the Guitar Center Drum-Off.
